Master of Youth (part V)

He got up from the floor and dusted himself off. “Well, let’s hope that those two barriers we did do the trick. But just in case let’s go up to the sanctuary.” My master said with a little bit of worry in his voice. I was worried too. It really didn’t matter if they broke, the only thing we need was time. I turned around and followed my master up the stairs. We were heading to the third floor. The third floor only had two rooms. One was the Master’s study where he kept all his books and journals. I had been in their only once. I was in that room on first day as his apprentice. He wanted to show me how much knowledge one would need in the business. It was a test to see if I would get scared of the amount of work I would be doing. If I was scared of that, then how could I face the things that go bump in the night? The other room was the sanctuary. The door was different then the other ones in the house. This was one was made of silver and rowan wood. The sliver and rowan wood combination made it extremely hard for those of the dark to get through. It would burn most creatures just by the faintest touch. And for those who could push though the burn had pain like you couldn’t imagine every second they kept touching the door. My master pulled out a strange looking key from his pocket in and inserted into the door. He didn’t turn the key and yet the door swung open rather quickly. He hurried me into the room after him and quickly shut the door. He took the key and put it back into his pocket. The room was empty. There were no book selves, tables, or even windows. It was a room made of silver and rowan wood. It felt like I was in a giant metal box. This made it impossible to enter without going through the door, or escape. I laughed a little at that thought. My master looked at me and gave me a funny look. On the floor was a Buso circle. A circle that helps restore magic more quickly if one is meditate within it. In the olden times it was used a sacrificial symbol. Those wanting to gain more power made sacrifices within it. We entered the Buso and sat down. I had never used one before but I did read about them in the book my master gave me. I was to concentrate on my center and zone everything else out. I was supposed to visualize my magic and imagine it growing. This would then cause the Buso to activate and grant my wish. It would restore my power and I’d be ready to fight next to master. “Go first. I want to make sure you’re safe and strong before I go.” My master said with a kind smile on his face. I smiled and closed my eyes slowly. Before my eyes were shut completely I noticed something weird about my master’s smile it looked almost wicked.
